1:24AM - Jane Pratt's radio show
Does anyone listen to Jane's Sirius radio show? I don't have Sirius radio but I'm considering getting it just to hear her show. I am wondering what kinds of things she talks about and what the format is like. I guess I'm just feeling nostalgic for something Jane related.

11:37AM - Sassy online archive site?
Does anyone know what happened to the fantastic website that was practically an archive of all things ever printed in Sassy? It was after Rita Hao's site.
I can't remember the URL but it's not google-able. All my Sassys are in storage and I need a fix!

i just found out recently that it was chloe sevigny in sonic youth's the kool thing video. this is relevant because she was sassy's fashion assistant at 18.

Doesn't seem like anyone posts her much but just wanted to share my love of Sassy. Discovered it in 1993 and it actually led me to a job on a British teen mag because I wanted to spread the Sassy love to British girlkind. Then it got sold to Petersen and returned a shadow of its former self. I bought most of the back issues on eBay a few years ago but even now I dig out my copies and I never fail to be inspired.
I loved Working Our Nerves and Dear Boy and the Sassy Glossary, cute boy alert, the snarky interviews with PR-deadened celebrities. Oh hell, I loved it all and I still miss Sassy. Jane's just not the same.

I started subscribing to Sassy with the reader produced issue that featured Juliana Hatfield. I never missed another issue up until and including that abysmal issue put out by the Teen magazine people.
I miss this magazine. Jane is good, but not perfect.

2:53PM - DIY Face Scrub
Mild face scrub
2 tablespoons oatmeal
2 tablespoons cornmeal
2 tablespoons wheat germ
Perfect for exfoliating normal to sensitive skin. Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container. Make a paste by adding a splash of warm water to one tablespoon of the mixture. Use once or twice a week.
So soft, so fresh, so clean....
You can also add a tiny bit of yogurt instead of water.

If I could be bothered, I would record a wav of me squealing and post it here, because I am so excited about this community! =D
I absolutely ADORE/D Sassy! And I adore Jane just as much, it's like the magazine grew up with me, sort of.
The only thing I have left of my Sassy collection, however, is one page, ripped out. It's Dear Boy with Billy Corgan. =D

omg, I was just thinking about my old sassy's, they're at my mom's house and I want to get them.
my favorite sassy features:
* dear boy.
* christina kelly.
* gigi something (am I making that up?).
* fuckit, every writer was so funny.
* the spike jonze and evan dando appearances.
* alllllllll of the spectacular music and book reviews, I learned about so many cool bands and artists from sassy. the posies. the lemonheads. juliana hatfield. etc.
* the slang of the month or whatever it was called, my personal favorite was "lloyd dobbler" for the perfect boy who did everything right. I had that cut out on my bulletin board in high school.
I subscribe to Jane, and sometimes you can see a glimmer of the old Sassy-ness, but its just not the same. boo. I'm old.
Hey all of you Sassy fans. I created this community for those of us 20-30somethings who still get nostalgic for "old" Sassy. Please post away! Tell us why you liked Sassy, share a great DIY tip, give us the info on a cool new band/artist you're listening to.... you get the picture.
